Chef Fregz, Chef Amaka, Chef Colombs Headline Fourth Edition of ARTCATION

ARTCATION, Nigeria's pioneering immersive art-culinary experience, is set to return for its fourth edition with celebrated chefs Chef Fregz, Chef Amaka and Chef Colombs leading this year's culinary showcase as organisers promise the platform's most ambitious edition yet.

Since its debut in 2024, ARTCATION has evolved beyond a conventional art exhibition by combining contemporary visual art, gastronomy, performance and storytelling into a multi-sensory cultural experience that celebrates African creativity.

Over the past three editions, the platform has featured acclaimed artists including Joseph Abdallah, 12th, Mariam Olubunmi Aliu, Adetola Adenuga and Chuma Anagbado. It has also attracted the support of leading brands, including Wakanow, which served as headline sponsor of the previous edition, helping to establish ARTCATION as one of Nigeria's most distinctive creative platforms.

Speaking on the vision behind the initiative, Founder and Curator of ARTCATION, Gbotemi, said the platform was created to transform the way audiences engage with art.

"We created a niche and became our own competition. The standard," Gbotemi said.

He added, "ARTCATION was never created to be just another event on the calendar. Our vision has always been to build a platform that changes how people experience art. We are creating a cultural language where artists, chefs and creatives collaborate to tell stories that are deeply African, emotionally engaging and globally relevant. Every edition pushes us to raise the standard we have set for ourselves."

According to the organisers, the fourth edition will deepen the connection between art and culture by presenting immersive experiences where cuisine, design, performance and storytelling come together to create a unified artistic narrative rather than displaying artworks in isolation.

The culinary aspect of this year's event will be led by Chef Fregz, Chef Amaka and Chef Colombs, whose creations are expected to complement exhibitions by leading contemporary artists, reinforcing the belief that food can serve as a powerful storytelling medium alongside visual art.

Organisers said the platform remains committed to building the foundation for immersive art experiences across Nigeria and Africa by encouraging collaboration among artists, chefs, designers and other cultural practitioners while celebrating African heritage through contemporary expression.

They noted that this year's edition will feature expanded programming, fresh collaborations and innovative experiences designed to offer audiences the most immersive ARTCATION experience to date.

Details of the event, including the date, venue, participating artists and full programme, will be announced in the coming weeks.
