Nollywood actress and founder of Queeneth Agbor (Strength Beyond Walls) Foundation, Queeneth Agbor, has been honoured with an Award of Appreciation by the Nigerian Correctional Service, Zone A Headquarters, Lagos, for her commitment to the rehabilitation of inmates and positive impact on their lives.
The award, according to the Service, recognises Agbor’s sustained support for initiatives aimed at improving the welfare, rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates into society.
Agbor, who has continued to use her foundation to advocate for hope, empowerment and rehabilitation within correctional facilities, described the recognition as an encouragement to do more for people who need support and a second chance.
She said, “I am deeply grateful to the Nigerian Correctional Service, Zone A Headquarters, for this recognition. It means a lot to me because the work we do through Strength Beyond Walls Foundation is driven by the belief that every individual deserves hope, dignity and an opportunity to rebuild.”
The actress added that the award would further strengthen her resolve to contribute to programmes that promote rehabilitation and positive transformation among inmates.
“This award is not just about me; it is about everyone who believes in giving people a second chance. We will continue to support efforts that help inmates discover their potential, acquire useful skills and prepare for meaningful lives after incarceration,” she said.
The recognition is coming amid growing calls for greater collaboration between government institutions, non-governmental organisations and other stakeholders in strengthening correctional rehabilitation and ensuring the successful reintegration of inmates into society.
Through Strength Beyond Walls Foundation, Agbor has continued to champion initiatives focused on supporting inmates and promoting a more humane approach to correctional rehabilitation.
She also expressed appreciation to individuals and organisations that have supported the foundation’s mission, stressing that sustainable impact requires collective effort.
“Our goal is to ensure that nobody feels forgotten simply because they are behind the walls of a correctional facility. There is always room for transformation, and we are committed to being part of that journey,” Agbor stated.
