Pronalytics Secures NRS Accreditation as System Integrator for E-Invoicing

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has accredited Pronalytics, an enterprise compliance technology company, as a System Integrator under the national e-invoicing framework built on the Merchant Buyer Solution (MBS) platform. The accreditation authorizes Pronalytics to connect businesses' existing accounting and ERP systems directly to the MBS infrastructure for real-time invoice validation and compliant digital tax reporting.

 

The approval comes as the e-invoicing mandate moves beyond its initial phase. The NRS introduced the program in stages tied to annual turnover, bringing in businesses above N5 billion first, then extending to those between N1 billion and N5 billion, with smaller businesses following in subsequent phases. As the mandate widens, the number of organizations needing compliant connections between their internal systems and the government platform is growing faster than the pool of accredited firms equipped to provide them.

 

Under the NRS framework, a System Integrator is the licensed entity responsible for bridging a taxpayer's internal software, whether that is an ERP platform, an accounting package, or a standalone invoicing tool, to the MBS platform. The SI converts invoices generated inside the business's own system into the format the NRS prescribes, transmits them for validation, and returns the validated result to the taxpayer's records for reporting and audit. Without an accredited SI handling that connection, a business either builds the technical integration itself, a process that requires meeting NRS and NITDA (National Information Technology Development Agency) technical standards, or risks operating outside compliance.

Under the MBS framework, the compliance chain has two stages: the System Integrator connects and converts, while the Access Point Provider handles the secure, encrypted transmission of invoice data between the business and the NRS. With separate accreditations covering each stage, Pronalytics says businesses working through its platform will not need to contract a second vendor to complete the process.

 

Both capabilities are delivered through TaxAnchor360, the company's platform for NRS e-invoicing, tax intelligence, and broader compliance operations. The e-invoicing mandate is a central part of Nigeria's wider push to modernize tax administration. The MBS platform was introduced to enable real-time capture and monitoring of business-to-business and business-to-government transactions, with the stated goals of improving transparency, standardizing invoice processes, and reducing revenue leakage. As implementation continues across the turnover tiers, businesses that have not yet connected to the platform face increasing pressure to onboard, particularly as enforcement timelines tighten.

 

For mid-sized businesses entering the mandate's second and third phases, the challenge is often practical rather than strategic. Most already run accounting or ERP software that generates invoices for their own purposes. What they lack is the technical layer that connects those systems to the MBS platform in the specific format and protocol the NRS requires, and keeps that connection current as requirements change.
